A plain-English summary. The full policy below is what applies.
1. Who we are
Novera Languages ("we", "us", "our") is a language services and global recruitment company. We are the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at info@noveralanguages.com or +1 (803) 964-5624 with any question about your data. We operate as a remote business and do not maintain a public office address.
2. The information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us. We do not sell personal data, and we do not buy it.
When you request an interpreter or a quote
Through the request form we collect your name, company or organization, email address, phone number, the service and language you need, whether the assignment is on-site or remote, the location and date or time of the assignment, and any details you add. Providing this information is voluntary, but we need it to respond to your request.
When you contact us directly
If you email or call us, we receive whatever information you include in that message or conversation.
Technical information
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare processes limited technical data (such as IP address and basic request logs) to serve the site securely and defend against abuse. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies, and no third-party marketing scripts run on this site. Our fonts are served from our own site, not a third-party font network.
3. How we use your information, and our legal basis
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote or match you with a suitable interpreter or language professional;
- Communicate with you about your request and provide the services you ask for;
- Keep records required for our legitimate business and legal obligations.
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our legal bases are your consent (which you give by ticking the box on the form), the steps necessary to enter into or perform a contract at your request, and our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running our business. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 7).
4. Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers that help us operate, and only as far as needed:
- Web3Forms — our website forms are delivered to our inbox through Web3Forms, a form-submission service. Your form data passes through Web3Forms solely to reach us.
- Our email and hosting providers — used to receive your message and to host this website.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
5. International transfers
We serve clients in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, Africa, and worldwide. Because we and our service providers may process data in different countries, your information may be transferred across borders. Where such transfers involve personal data protected by the UK or EU GDPR, we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection, such as relying on providers that offer recognised safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as we need it to respond to your request and to meet our legal and business obligations, after which we delete or anonymise it. If you would like us to remove your information sooner, contact us and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Ask us to delete your information;
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use it;
- Request a copy of your information in a portable format;
- Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@noveralanguages.com. If you are in the UK or EU and believe we have not handled your data properly, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information you share with us and to limit access to it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe and to handle it responsibly.
9. Children
This website and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check back for the current version.
